I’m here with Gulab Jamun, India’s classic sweet.
Gulab Jamun are soft delicious berry sized balls made with milk solids, Rose water and rinsed in the sugar syrup. It’s a great sweet which makes everyone to have a watery mouth. There are two methods in making the Gulab Jamun. One is by using the milk powder and the second method is by using khoya that is milk solids. The word Gulab means rose in Hindi and Jamun means Berry. It’s time to make our fluffy soft Gulab Jamuns..!!!
The colour and texture of this sweet will make you to have a big smile on your face.
First you need to make the sugar syrup. Add 2 cups of water, one and a half cup of sugar and 4 to 5 cardamom seeds to a pot or a bowl which you’ll be heating it up. Boil the mixture until it gains a sticky texture. To check the sticky consistency dip your fore finger and touch it with your thumb. You should feel the sticky sensation. If the syrup fails the Jamuns will not soak and get the soft texture. You can add some saffron strands for a delightful flavour. At last add some rose water and keep the syrup aside.
