Sweet Potato Tikki

Ah! A great Starter and it’s done using sweet potatoes..!!!

It’s one of the common dish made during Navaratri festival. Sometimes you may get tired of having potatoes in every meal but this gives a change and pours you with different tastes.

The needed ingredients are,

( Singhara atta is nothing but water chestnut flour)

Make sure you have the ingredients right!!!

Now it’s time to make our crunchy munchy Tikki

Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes to make them get rid of the dirt. Take a pressure cooker with enough water to soak the potatoes. Cover the lid and leave it in medium heat for about 5 to 6 whistles. The number of whistle depends on the size of potatoes which you choose so cook them accordingly. After the pressure got down, drain and leave the potatoes covered in a bowl. After the heat has cooled peal the skin of the potatoes and mash them.

It’s time to add our masala to the potatoes… (Amchur powder, Chaat masala, cumin powder, red chilli powder, fennel seeds powder, sendha namak, green chilies, cilantro leaves, lime juice or have a lemon and crushed peanuts)
Mix them well.
Add Singhara atta or chestnut flour and make them in a consistency of making a dough ball. Now grease your hands in oil and start making the shape of Tikki which you want to create.

After shaping all the Tikkis fry them in a medium flame on a pan. Once you get the light brown colour from the bottom side, flip it and cook the another side. Make sure you cook both the sides.

After frying them remove it from the pan and serve it hot with some sauce.

Add some corianders on the top which will increase the flavour for our Tikki.

Our crunchy munchy Tikki is ready..!!!
